Unabashedly, I wear my nerd pride on my sleeve. I love comics, sci fi flicks and video games. My friends and I used to be so intense with online video games, that we would actually pay real world money, as in standard American currency, for items and weapons in the video games.
Nowadays, you can buy “gold” or other forms of currency in a video game world. This online gold is like real gold to any video game addict. My little brother loves Hero Online, so for his birthday I got him Hero Online gold. He loved me. What was better, I totally beat out my parents for the best birthday present, and spent way less than they did. It was awesome.
I actually still play some MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) and, in order to get ahead, I trade my real money for online gold. I have no regrets, because it is more than worth it to make those little snot nosed brats eat their own words and beat the guys with no lives at their own game.
There are tons of places where you can buy online gold. If you, or someone you love plays MMORPGs or other online video games, I would definitely recommend getting them some online gold. They will love you for it.
Has anyone ever gotten online gold with real life currency? For what game? What price did you pay for gold online? Was the online gold exchange rate good? Please share your experience in the comments.
